I grew up in Albemarle County and attended Western Albemarle High School. I then headed over the mountain and became a proud graduate of Bridgewater College. During my senior year of college, I did my student teaching at Wilbur Pence Middle School in an 8th grade classroom. In 2005, I accepted a job as an Algebra I teacher at Harrisonburg High School. I quickly realized that middle school is the place for me. The following year I was lucky enough to get a job at Wilbur Pence teaching Math 8 and Algebra I Part I. I currently teach Math 7 and Pre-Algebra.
My husband is a math teacher at Harrisonburg High School. We have two children. Brady was born in 2013 and Avenlea was born in 2017. They are sure to be fans of math as well. My favorites are watching movies, drinking Dr. Pepper, and spending time with my family (oh...and teaching math of course). |
